Did You Catch The Classic Captain America Easter Egg In Logan?

WARNING: Minor spoilers ahead for Logan.

Logan hit theaters this weekend, and the film became an instant classic for comic fans. It was an emotional ride, it stayed true to the characters, and there were some really awesome Easter Eggs hidden throughout the film.

You just had to pay very close attention.

If you looked extra-close, you may have caught a great nod to the comics in the first 15 minutes of the movie. If you blinked, you would have missed it.

In an early scene, Logan is hanging around a cemetery, waiting to drive the funeral-goers back home. This is where Gabriela first approaches him.

As the camera pans, the audience sees the name of the burial ground where the funeral is taking place - Greenwood Cemetery.

In Marvel comics, Greenwood is a popular location for many of the characters. This is where Sue Storm was buried in the Mark Millar - writer of Logan's source material Old Man Logan - run of Fantastic Four.

The cemetery also houses the WWII memorial to Captain America in The Ultimates storyline. Steve Rogers was believed to be dead, and a memorial was erected in his honor. Steve and Bucky Barnes often visit the memorial when they need a private place to chat.

Sure, Logan takes place in Texas and the classic Greenwood Cemetery is in New York, and that could cause some confusion. But Logan is a fairly standalone film, this was just a respectful nod to the comics.

Logan is now playing in theaters.
