Chris Evans Surprises Kid Volunteers At Captain America: Civil War Screening
05/05/2016 04:35 pm EDT
On Wednesday night, New York Daily News and Disney held a special screening of Captain America: Civil War to honor a pair of charities (Celebrate U, generationOn) that encourage young people to volunteer.
Before the film began, it was pointed out that Archie Silverstein, a volunteer that has helped throw birthday parties for kids in shelters and donated his Bar Mitzvah to charity, is turning 13 this month. When the crowd began to sing the "Happy Birthday" song, Chris Evans appeared with a cupcake for the birthday boy, sang along to the song, and called Silverstein a "real hero."
"It was pretty awesome to see a guy I admire so much come out of nowhere and wish me a happy birthday," Silverstein told the New York Daily News. "It was so insane. I had no idea."
In Captain America: Civil War, governments around the world hold Earth's Mightiest Heroes accountable for their actions, despite the amount of lives they've saved. Heroes divide as Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) butt heads, and fists, while fighting for what they believe in! Catch a glimpse of the action in front of and behind the camera above.
Captain America: Civil War will arrive in theaters on May 6, 2016.
