Chris Pratt And Jennifer Lawrence Imagine A Star-Lord And Mystique Love Story

While Mystique and Star-Lord will likely never meet cinematically, seeing as the rights to the characters call separate studios home, the actors who play them have recently joined forces for their own space adventure.

On the press tour for their new film Passengers, Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt caught up with ComicBook.com for an exclusive interview. Of course, we had to ask how they imagine a meeting between their Marvel characters would go down and it's not drastically different from Aurora Lane and Jim Preston in Passengers.

At first Pratt and Lawrence thought about the activies Star-Lord and Mystique would partake in. Pratt says they would, "Probably go to the bar with Arthur," with Lawrence adding they would "maybe hit the gym."

The introduction escalted quickly, though.

"Mystique would kill Peter Quill on the first day?" Pratt said.

"You probably wouldn't like her... Who would?" Lawrence said.

If Mystique is looking for love, she's found the guy.

"I'll tell you who would! Peter Quill," Pratt points out. "The dude has hooked up with all sorts of fem-aliens."

"Right," Lawrence agreed. She's not dissimilar from Zoe Saldana. He could probably charm her."

"It'd be love," Pratt concluded.

Passengers is not all that different of a role from his of Guardians of the Galaxy if you take his description into account. Both Quill and Preston have to deal with talking dogs and space pilots throughout.

"We're ddealing with themes about being a human that rarely exist in something so sci-fi," Pratt siad. "It's really, really an amazing story."

In Passengers, a spacecraft traveling to a distant colony planet and transporting thousands of people has a malfunction in its sleep chambers. As a result, two passengers are awakened 90 years early.

Passengers opens in theaters December 21, 2016.
