Deadpool 2: This Is What Pierce Brosnan Could Look Like As Cable

Fans have been eagerly anticipating casting news for the time-traveling mutant mercenary Cable ever since Deadpool teased the character's involvement in Deadpool 2 in the post-credits scene for the first Deadpool movie.

Many fans have voiced their own opinions about who should play the role of Cable with Stephen Lang and Ron Perlman being popular favorites. There were rumors that Kyle Chandler was also considered for the role, but that idea may have driven a wedge between Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds and director Tim Miller that resulted in Miller departed from the sequel.

Yesterday, a photo led to new speculation. Reynolds and Logan star Hugh Jackman released photographs of themselves with for James Bond star Pierce Brosnan. While the statuses included with the photos only referred to the meeting as Wolverine and Deadpool meeting Bond, it led to speculation that Bronson may be in line for the Cable role.

There's been no official acknowledgment of this casting idea from 20th Century Fox or anyone involved with Deadpool 2, but ComicBook.com decided to take a look at that potential future timeline. Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool 2 will bring back star Ryan Reynolds and bring on new director David Leitch (John Wick). The sequel will introduce both Cable and Domino, another mutant mercenary who has a history with both Deadpool and Cable. Brianna Hildebrand is also said to return as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, along with her X-Men mentor Colossus.
