Fan-Made Musical Mashes Deadpool And Beauty And The Beast

When the Deadpool movie released last year, it was met with fan and critical acclaim—not to mention financial success.

What began as a leaked test trailer became one of the most anticipated superhero films and a box office smash when it hit theaters, cementing star Ryan Reynolds' portrayal alongside Heath Ledger and Hugh Jackman as some of the greatest comic book characters come to life.

But there was one minor complaint a lot of people registered, no matter how petty it seemed: where was the musical number?

Ever since Spider-Man 3 showed Tobey Maguire bring sexy back in a jazz club, fans of superhero movies have been clamoring for more musical numbers in the movies, and Deadpool didn't provide.

One enterprising group of filmmakers rectified that with this take on the Alan Menken-penned "Gaston" from Beauty and the Beast, in which Deadpool fights/dances his way through a group of surly drinkers who want him killed.

Special guest appearances from Black Widow, Rogue, Psylocke, and Spider-Man add to the fun, but the production values of the fan film take this parody over the top.

It also helps when the person providing the voice for Deadpool can match the tone and cantor of Reynolds, who has essentially cemented himself as the Merc With The Mouth at this point.

As with most things related to the Deadpool film, the video is decidedly NSFW, so be sure you have some headphones in lest some children gather because they think you're watching a Disney classic.

Deadpool 2 is currently in pre-production phase and is set to begin filming later this year. Reynolds still hasn't tweeted out which actor will be playing Cable, but we should expect that announcement any day now… You hear that, Reynolds? Any. Day. Now.
