Benjamin Bratt Wants To Return For Doctor Strange Sequel

Marvel's Doctor Strange was another hit for the powerhouse production studio, unsurprisingly, and it brought a lot of prominent actors into the MCU. Benjamin Bratt's own appearance was a pleasant surprise, though things didn't turn out to well for him by the film's end.

But the actor is hopeful that he will turn up for the inevitable sequel.

"Let's just say I'm optimistic that it will turn into something. There's been no promise. There's been no real conversation," Bratt said.

While speaking with IGN at the Television Critics Association press tour, Bratt said that he's not sure if his character Pangborn will appearing Doctor Strange 2 due to his character's last scene. The first movie ended with Mordo deciding there were too many sorcerers left on Earth, working to eradicate them and their magic from the realm.

Mordo confronts Pangborn, who had been walking with the aid of magic after suffering a paralyzing injury.

"It's ambiguous -- I think on purpose," Bratt said, leaving open the possibility that his character could return. "I think they left it… purposely ambiguous, but my hope is they bring that character, Pangborn, back."

While Pangborn only set Stephen Strange on the path to finding the Ancient One and discovering the mystic arts, his character did not have a huge rule in the film. But now that he's established in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, here's hoping his Bratt gets a bigger role in the sequel.

Doctor Strange is now available on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD. The character will next appear in Thor: Ragnarok, followed by Avengers: Infinity War.
