Doctor Strange VFX Supervisor Joins Ant-Man And The Wasp Crew

Today, Marvel Studios had plenty of reason to celebrate. News broke earlier in the day that Doctor Strange was nominated for an Academy Award thanks to its visual effects, and fans are glad to see the feature's mind-blowing scenes get proper recognition. Now, talent like Stephane Ceretti and more are being honored at the Oscars for their work, but it might not be the only time they nab a nomination.

Apparently, it looks like the FX supervisor for Doctor Strange will be working on Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Over on Twitter, Peyton Reed shared the news when he congratulated Ceretti on his nomination. While fans have suspected the visual artist would be involved with the project, Reed confirmed it with his tweet.

"Congrats, [Ceretti], on your Oscar nomination! I look forward to dealing with your attitude on ANT-MAN AND THE WASP."

Given Ceretti's involvement, fans are curious whether the Ant-Man sequel will manage to nab a nomination for a future Oscars ceremony. The visual supervisor's last two Marvel films will have been given the honor as Guardians of the Galaxy was also nominated. And, clearly, the film deserved the recognition. Did you see Baby Groot?

With a powerhouse visual artist on its team, Ant-Man and the Wasp is looking up. There is little known about the film, but Ceretti's part already has fans wondering how his artistic skills may be used. Who knows? Audiences may get to see more of the trippy Quantum Realm from the first Ant-Man since Ceretti is more than qualified to bring locations like that to life on-screen.

For now, fans have a bit of time until news begins breaking about Ant-Man and the Wasp in earnest. Earlier this month, reports began to circulate that the sequel would begin production in June 2017 down in Atlanta, GA. If that is the cast, the movie would be following after Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War as the two blockbusters also began filming down South at the year's start.
