When it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there are dozens of unanswered questions which fans continue to ask. Some have been guaranteed an answer in future films, but there are several burning questions which may never be answered. One of those questions was prompted by Guardians of the Galaxy when the film debuted, and now its director is clearing up any lingering confusion.

If you've delved into the Guardians fandom, then you know fans have one huge question about Star-Lord. No, it's not about his abduction; It is about his sweet cassette player. Today, a fan asked the director how the hero acquired the music player which was spotted in his Milano spacecraft, and Gunn had this to say.

"We see his Grandpa put it in his backpack."

Confused, fans realized that Gunn had answered how Star-Lord boarded the Ravager's spacecraft with a handheld cassette player in hand. It is true that fans see the grandfather sneak the machine in Peter Quill's bag, but it wasn't that player the fans were asking about. Rather, it was the custom-built cassette player built into Star-Lord's ship.

"Oh," Gunn said after being redirected. "He made it, largely with parts from junkers. You wonder about this and not about flying a ship that travels between planets in hours???"

So, there you have it! Fans have now learned that Star-Lord likely reverse engineered the tech of his portable player to create his very own cassette player for the Milano. Clearly, it had the hero hooked on a feeling.

Set to the backdrop of 'Awesome Mixtape #2,' Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team's adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill's true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes' aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is written and directed by James Gunn (Slither).
