Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 didn't just get the original crew back together, but also provided a chance for new characters to make their debut, including those played by Sylvester Stallone and Michael Rosenbaum.

The two actors are favorites of Guardians director James Gunn, who shared a behind the scenes photo of both characters in costume on Instagram and features Rosenbaum with his motion capture aesthetics for the CGI.

Gunn captioned the photo by saying: "#GotGPicoftheDay with Martinex (@themichaelrosenbaum) and Stakar (@officialslystallone). Rosey is one of my best friends in the world - we've been laughing and crying together for many years - and Sly is of course one of my great heroes, a true icon, and funny as hell. So these days on Contraxia were some of the most fun during the production of #GuardiansoftheGalaxyVol2. The movie is still out and going strong in theaters all over the world, so go see it this weekend!!! #gotgvol2 #film."

If the after the credits scene featuring the two is anything to go by, Gunn will have another chance to work with them in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, along with a few other members of the squad.

Gunn's latest is in theaters now, and you can find the synopsis for the film below.

Set to the backdrop of 'Awesome Mixtape #2,' Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team's adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos.
