UPDATE: The British Board of Film Classification has since seconded the runtime claim. The site says the film will be 136 minutes long.

Strap in, Marvel fans! You are going to get a lot of Guardians of the Galaxy when the series debuts its sequel in May. Following the magical heels of Doctor Strange, the superhero feature will take to the stars and follow Star-Lord's crew as they unwittingly save the galaxy once more.

If you are curious about how long the film will last, then you don't have to guess much longer. In the past, director James Gunn has confirmed the film would be a bit over two hours after a fan on Facebook made a rather good guess about its length. But, thanks to Event Cinemas, fans know the exact runtime of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

According to the Australian site, the film will last 136 minutes - so 2 hours and 16 minutes. The length makes the second Guardians film the fourth-longest project produced by Marvel Studios. Captain America: Civil War still takes the top spot at 146 minutes with The Avengers coming in second t 143 minutes. Third place is held down by The Avengers: Age of Ultron at 141 minutes.
