Happy Birthday! Dave Bautista Turns 48 Years Old Today

Dave Bautista first rose to prominence with a long and successful run with the WWE, a run that saw him become a six-time world champion. He claimed the World Heavyweight Championship four times and the WWE Championship twice during his inaugural run, and would later return to the WWE for a second run in 2014., but he has now firmly established himself as a talented actor.

During his absence though Bautista firmly established himself as a talented actor. He got his acting start in movies like The Man with the Iron Fists, The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption and Riddick. However, his breakout role came when he played Drax the Destroyer in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy. Bautista played Drax with heart, humor, and passion, and forever cemented himself as a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

After his success in Guardians of the Galaxy, Bautista landed the role of Mr. Hinx in the James Bond film Spectre, but fans are happy to know he is returning to the role of Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 which comes out later this year. His Marvel duties won't be finished after Guardians, however, as along with the other Guardians he will be making an appearance in the heavily anticipated Avengers: Infinity War.

Bautista also has a number of non-Marvel projects in the works, including Final Score, Bushwick, and the anticipated Blade Runner 2049 alongside Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford.
Dave Bautista was born on January 18, 1969, in Washington, D.C. He turns 48 years old today.
