Here's How Deadpool 3 And X-Force Will Differ From One Another

After the success of Deadpool and Logan, it seems like 20th Century Fox has gotten a hold a solid superhero formula. The two films wowed audiences with its ultra-violent content and gritty ratings. So, as the studio moves forward, future projects in the Deadpool and X-Men franchise will have quite the reputation to live up to now. This year, the sequel to Deadpool will go into production, and a third movie is already in-development behind-the-scenes. Now, one of the writers for Deadpool 2 is speaking up about the third film, and Rhett Reese is making sure everyone knows it will be different from X-Force.

Recently, the writer and co-producer sat down with CinemaBlend to talk about Deadpool 2. It was there Reese explained that Deadpool 3 will work to establish X-Force as a more ensemble project.

"I also think it's working in an expansive way towards X-Force, which will really be more of an ensemble," Reese said. "But then that will allow us to do both an X-Force movie and a Deadpool 3, which actually contracts back down."

Then, to clarify, Reese confirmed the two films were entirely separate titles. The writer said Deadpool 3 will take place with a much smaller scale while X-Force acts as a flashier team project.

"Deadpool 3 will be different from X-Force. So I think we'll be able to take two paths. One is where we're launching something bigger, but then another where we're contracting and staying personal and small. So I think best of all worlds, really."

The Deadpool sequel, which is being directed by David Leitch (John Wick, Atomic Blonde) and written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, is currently in pre-production and is expected to begin filming at the end of this spring. The film will introduce Deadpool's time-traveling mutant partner, Cable, as well as X-Force member Domino, who is being portrayed by Atlanta actress Zazie Beetz. Supporting characters from the original film — such as Colossus (voiced by Stefan Kapicic), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) and taxi driver Dopinder (Karan Soni) — are also expected to return.
