Inhumans Vs. X-Men First Look Released

The issues between the Inhumans and mutantkind have finally started to boil over, and the ensuing conflict that is about to erupt was really inevitable and will have large ramifications for the current Marvel Universe.

That conflict will kick off officially in Inhumans vs X-Men #1, written by Charles Soule (Uncanny Inhumans), Jeff Lemire (Extraordinary X-Men) and drawn by Leinil Yu (Secret Invasion).

Mutantkind is suffering quite severely as a result of the Terrigen Mists. The very thing that gives the Inhumans their powers is also responsible for mutants losing their lives, and Magneto and the rest of the surviving mutants have had enough.

We don't yet know what ultimately triggers the conflict, as that will be revealed at the conclusion of the current Death of X series. What we do know is that after the events of Inhumans vs X-Men, the X-Family will be undergoing their own sort of rebirth in what Marvel is calling ResurrXion.

"Between the dire state of the X-Men following Secret Wars and what looks like a big shift in ResurrXion, Inhumans vs X-Men seems like a major flashpoint that fans shouldn't miss." said ComicBook.com's Jamie Lovett.

You can view the official description for the issue below, and make sure to check out a first look preview in the gallery.

The Terrigen Mists roll across the planet, birthing new Inhumans and poisoning the planet's Mutants. Tensions are about to reach their boiling point as time is running out! Terrigen is on the verge of reaching a saturation point in the Earth's atmosphere. The ultimatum is clear – the X-Men must destroy the mists, or risk Earth becoming forever poisonous to their kind. With their backs to the wall, it's win now…or go extinct. Only one problem – the Inhumans won't go down without a fight! And they're calling in everyone!

Issue #1 will launch with several variant covers, which will ship alongside the regular cover and the launch party opt-in cover, both by Leinil Francis Yu. Those include the Action Figure variant from John Tyler Christopher, the Black Panther 50th Anniversary cover by Mike Del Mundo, a variant from Michael Cho, a variant from Kenneth Rocafort, a party variant by Chip Zdarsky, a party sketch variant from Zdarsky, a Hip-Hop variant by Wilfred Santiago, an Inhumans variant from Terry Dodson, a Premiere variant by Leinil Francis Yu, an X-Men variant from Ardian Syaf, and a blank cover variant.

Inhumans vs. X-Men #1 rings the bell on December 14.
