Finn Jones Says Iron Fist Season 2 Confirmation Is Coming Soon

Earlier this year, Netflix rounded out its line-up for Marvel heroes when it introduced the immortal Iron Fist. The martial artist was given his own solo series with actor Finn Jones suiting up as the hero. While many fans enjoyed the series, others did bemoan its rushed action sequences and slow-moving plot. Those critiques piled on top of the show's controversial casting choices, leading many to wonder if Iron Fist would get a second season.

However, it looks like fans need to wonder no more. According to Jones, an announcement about Iron Fist's second season will be released soon.

The actor dropped the season renewal bombshell during a recent appearance at Puerto Rico Comic-Con. Jones attended a panel where he did a short fan Q&A, and it was there the star hinted at the show's comeback. According to an on-sight report by SuperBroMovies, Jones confirmed an Iron Fist season two confirmation would be coming soon.

So far, all of Netflix's Marvel series have received a second season order. Jessica Jones recently began production on its second season, and Luke Cage will do the same in the coming year. Daredevil had its second season debut already, leaving Netflix to order a third. The streaming site is also not known for cancelling its original series after a single season, so Iron Fist will surely get another chance to wow fans like they hoped to be.

Looking back at the site's renewal announcements, it would make sense for Iron Fist to have its second season green-lit next month. In the past, Netflix has given fans' a heads up about the renewals about three months after a series makes it debut. Iron Fist began streaming in March, so June would be the perfect time for the site to make an official announcement.

Before any of Netflix's solo Marvel titles get another go, the site will roll out a special crossover between the series. The Defenders is slated to debut in August and bring together New York's vigilantes as they go against a mysterious villain who's played by Sigourney Weaver.

Marvel's The Defenders is developed by Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez. The miniseries will also feature Sigourney Weaver as the villain, Alexandra (Sigourney Weaver), and several recurring guest stars from Marvel's Daredevil, Marvel's Jessica Jones, Marvel's Luke Cage, and Marvel's Iron Fist, including Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth, Scott Glenn as Stick, Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing.
