Iron Man Now Streaming On Hulu and Amazon Prime

In case you hadn't seen their latest ad campaign for January releases, streaming movie and TV website Hulu has acquired the rights to stream Iron Man.

The film that kicked off the fan-favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe has been available for streaming intermittently since about 2009, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole has been unavailable on streaming sites for a while. With Captain America: Civil War coming to Netflix and Iron Man heading to both Hulu and Amazon Prime, it seems they might start being a little less rare.

The only other MCU movies currently available for streaming are Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man, both available through Starz.

Iron Man in particular is a bit of a sought-after movie on streaming since it was originally distributed through Paramount, not Disney, so people who own physical copies of the DVD have digital copies that are less versatile than the later, Disney-owned Marvel movies, which can be redeemed on Disney Movies Anywhere and shared across platforms like Amazon, Vudu, and iTunes.

Disney recently signed a deal to add new theatrical releases to Netflix, but followed it up with an announcement that a number of their animated classics would be going to Hulu. Currently, the studio is developing orginal programming with both. Disney-owned ABC has an ownership stake in Hulu.

Doctor Strange is still in some theaters; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 opens May 5, 2017; Spider-Man: Homecoming – July 7, 2017; Thor: Ragnarok – November 3, 2017; Black Panther – February 16, 2018; Avengers: Infinity War – May 4, 2018; Ant-Man and the Wasp – July 6, 2018; and Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019.
