Jennifer Lawrence's Nephew Doesn't Believe She's A Real X-Men

Jennifer Lawrence has been playing Mystique in the X-Men movies for an entirely trilogy now, and her character is even leading the group in X-Men: Apocalypse, but apparently that's not enough credibility to make her a "real X-Men" in the eyes of a certain X-Men superfan. That fan is Lawrence's nephew, who loves the X-Men, but seems entirely unimpressed with the fact that his aunt plays the cinematic version of the mutant shapeshifter.

Lawrence was a guest on last night's episode of The Tonight Show, where she shared a video of her nephew being visibly annoyed when she brought up the role during a car ride. "This is like a mild version of what he does," Lawrence said. "When I was on the phone with the producer for this, she heard bear go 'pfft' as soon as I said 'X-Men.'"

It's always hard to please the diehards.

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
