Marvel Calls Out Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Yet Again

It seems that Marvel Comics has a serious fascination with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

ComicBook.com previously reported on the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice parody poster for Nighthawk v Hyperion: Yawn of Boredom that was featured in an issue of Spider-Man/Deadpool.

Marvel followed that up with a backup story in Uncanny X-Men Annual #1 that had Domino killing two cards while telling a story that sounded eerily similar to a certain major scene from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Marvel's latest Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is significantly more innocuous than the previous two, and in fact doesn't even occur within the actual story being told, but as the third Batman v Superman call out in recent months it's hard to notice this becoming a pattern.

The latest Marvel call out to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice occurred in the pages of this week's Old Man Logan #14. The issue is the beginning of a brand new arc that sees Dracula apparently summoning the Marvel Universe's vampires to his home in Transylvania.

Among those vampires is Logan's former sidekick, Jubilee, who was turned during the 2010-2011 "Curse of the Mutants" storyline. Jubilee has been able to resist Dracula's commands in the past, but this time seems different. Cerebra alerts Logan to Jubilee's disappearance and when Logan goes to check up on Jubilee she finds that her adopted son, Shogo, has been left alone.

After leaving Shogo with Cerebra, Logan heads to Transylvania to investigate and runs into the Howling Commandos, a team made up of agents of SHIELD's supernatural task force, including Man-Thing, Teen Abomination, Hit-Monkey, and team leader Warwolf.

After the usual superhero meet-fight, the Howling Commandos tell Logan that they're in Transylvania looking for their teammate Vampire by Night, who also disappeared after being summoned by Dracula. Logan and the Howling Commandos agree to work together but are ambushed by Dracula himself, who sinks his fangs into Logan's neck on the issue's final page.

The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice reference comes in the text tease for the next issue of Old Man Logan, which reads, "NEXT: OLD MAN LOGAN VS DRACULA: DAWN OF JUSTICE!" You can see the page for yourself below.

"Old Man Logan vs. Dracula" is a pretty good selling point on its own. The "Dawn of Justice" feels like Marvel just can't help itself.

Old Man Logan #14 is on sale now.
