Iron Fist Defenders Motion Poster Hints At Danny Rand's Fate

A new motion poster for Marvel's Defenders featuring Iron Fist may hint at the martial arts master's future, including the possibility of a more traditional superhero costume.

The new Iron Fist motion poster shows Danny Rand standing outside of Harlem's Paradise, the notorious Harlem nightclub featured in the first season of Marvel's Luke Cage. That, in itself, is an interesting bit of crossover. Iron Fist and Luke Cage are best known for being the for-profit crime-fighting duo known as the Heroes for Hire in the Marvel Comics universe. Glimpses of their relationship have already been shown in the trailer for Marvel's Defenders

There are some additional hints hidden in the motion poster. Alexandra, the villain of The Defenders who is portrayed by Sigourney Weaver, can be seen peeking her eyes out of a car window behind Danny. However, perhaps more interesting is the "wanted" poster with Danny's face on it.

The poster seems to hint that Danny Rand will be on the run from the law in Marvel's Defenders. This could be the first step in Danny putting together a proper superhero costume. After all, as a wanted man, Danny would have a good reason to put a mask over his face. Perhaps he could even be inspired by Daredevil, or borrow one of Matt Murdock's old masks to do the job.

This is just speculation for now. None of the official photos or footage from The Defenders has shown Danny with anything resembling a comic book style superhero costume. However, this is the strongest hint we've received so far.

The Iron Fist motion poster for The Defenders is the latest in a series. Previous posters have featured Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones.

Marvel's The Defenders is the miniseries that will bring together all of Marvel's Netflix stars, including Iron Fist (Finn Jones) Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), and Luke Cage (Mike Colter), to protect New York City from its greatest threat yet.

Marvel's The Defenders is developed by Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez. The miniseries will also feature Sigourney Weaver as the villain, Alexandra (Sigourney Weaver), and several recurring guest stars from Marvel's Daredevil, Marvel's Jessica Jones, Marvel's Luke Cage, and Marvel's Iron Fist, including Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth, Scott Glenn as Stick, Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing.

Marvel's The Defenders premieres on Netflix on Aug. 18, 2017.
