Marvel Legacy isn't exactly a reset button for the Marvel Universe, but it will bring with it some significant changes, and Marvel has uncovered a few more details on what those will consist of.

Breaking Marvel Legacy down to it's most simplistic, it will feature the return of fan-favorite characters, a renewed focus on heroes actually fighting villains, original numbering, and clear jumping-on points for new readers. If the event manages to deliver all that, Marvel fans should have reason to celebrate.

Marvel even got Stan Lee to chime in, saying "I love the concept of returning to the classic characters as they were originally portrayed, without losing the brilliance and excitement of Marvel's newest generation of heroes. Excelsior!"

Kicking things off will be Marvel Legacy #1, which will feature a brand new team of Avengers set in the year 1,000,000 BC, and will have major ramifications for the present day timeline.

"MARVEL LEGACY #1 isn't simply a history lesson," says SVP and Executive Editor Tom Brevoort. "Rather, it's the starting gun to a bevy of mysteries, secrets, and revelations that will reverberate across the Marvel Universe in the weeks and months to come! No character, no franchise will be untouched by the game-changing events that play out across its pages. Jason and Esad pulled out all the stops to fat-pack this colossal issue with as much intrigue, action, surprise, mystery, shock, and adventure as possible!"
