Marvel To Use Legacy Numbering On Long-Running Comic Series

With the Venom symbiote reverting back to its original host Eddie Brock in the pages of his new comic, so too will the numbering revert when it gets to issue #150.

But that's just the beginning as Marvel returns many of its legacy series to original numbering, forgoing the seasonal series method they've employed for the last few years.

The new "Make Mine Marvel" initiative will begin this fall and see comics like Thor, Captain America, and Hulk return to their roots while embracing the three-digit number count they saw before multiple relaunches.

The Bleeding Cool report says the news is coming out of Emerald City Comicon in Seattle. Sounds like they're trying to gain back some of the ground lost to DC after they embraced their past with the Rebirth initiative.

So don't expect Venom to go back to the new numbering scheme after its landmark 150th issue—#151 will be right behind it.

We'll see what other series return to original numbering in the coming months, but it's a safe bet that the initiative will also hit titles like the Amazing Spider-Man, the Avengers, and Iron Man.

But can we get the Uncanny X-Men back too, please?
