Marvel To Debut Gwenom This Fall

It's finally happening! The Spectacular Spider-Woman of Earth-65 is finally getting her own symbiote saga!

Say hello to GWENOM!

As teased by series writer Jason Latour over the last 24 hours, the co-creator of the hit Marvel comic Spider-Gwen has finally unveiled the design for his latest collaboration with Robbi Rodruguez and Rico Renzi.

Fans have been clamoring for Spider-Gwen to focus its entertaining alt-Marvel lens on the popular Spider-Man foe Venom ever since the character first appeared in Edge of Spider-Verse #2 in 2014. Now the concept is going to make a major impact on the book, as evidenced by Latour's tweet where he revealed the design.

Gwenom is set to rock the Spider-Gwen world in a major way, and it will be interesting to see how Latour, Rodriguez, and Renzi reinterpret the concept for their own little corner of the Marvel Multiverse. Recently released solicitations and cover for Spider-Gwen #24 (paired with Latour's own comments) indicate that we should expect to see Gwenom debut in September.

The current storyline called "Predators" sees the Earth-65 versions of Wolverine and Shadowcat coming into Gwen's life as they're all on the hunt for the Lizard-infected Harry Osborne. It also introduced Elsa Brock, an Oscorp scientist who helped create this earth's version of the Venom parasite, as revealed in Spider-Gwen #19.

All of this is leading for Gwen's collision with the Venom symbiote and the badass design posted by the creative team. The worst thing about it is we have to wait until September to see it.

Spider-Gwen #21 is in stores tomorrow.

The aftermath of the PREDATORS storyline leaves Gwen in a VERY different place. Matt Murdock's plans all come home to roost, and when you plan like our good friend Murderdock does, you know that ain't pretty. WHAT IS THE NEXT EVOLUTIONARY STEP FOR SPIDER-GWEN?!
