Will The Defenders Heal Daredevil & Foggy's Fractured Friendship?

Marvel's The Defenders is set to bring many of Netflix's Marvel Cinematic Universe characters together onscreen. Among those are Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox), and his former colleague and friend Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson).

While the pair endured quite a bit of conflict in Daredevil's two seasons, it appears they will begin to partner up again in Defenders - primarily under the chaotic circumstances posed by Alexandra (Sigourney Weaver).

"That relationship is still fractured." Cox explained in an interview with ScreenRant. "I know that in Defenders — because of the nature of the problem, the nature of the issue, the plot in our show — Foggy has to get on board with Matt and what he can do. And I think he begins to see the benefit of someone like Matt."

But as Cox revealed, Matt and Foggy will not get a chance to fully reconcile just yet, primarily due to Defenders' short time frame.

"But that doesn't detract from the years of lying. The real healing is going to have to come later. The Defenders takes place in a week, a very small amount of time, you know what I mean? Only so much healing can be done in that time."

It sounds like fans will have to wait until Daredevil's third season to see the Avocados at Law fully make peace with each other.

The Defenders stars Charlie Cox (Daredevil/Matt Murdock), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Finn Jones (Iron Fist), Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple), Sigourney Weaver (Alexandra), Elodie Yung (Elektra Natchios), Babs Olusanmokun (Sowande), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Simone Missick (Misty Knight), Rachel Taylor (Trish Walker), Scott Glenn (Stick), Eka Darville (Malcolm Ducasse), Debbi Morgan (Delores), Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeri Hogarth), and Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page).

Daredevil seasons 1 and 2, Jessica Jones season 1, Luke Cage season 1, and Iron Fist season 1 are all available on Netflix now, while The Defenders is expected later in the year. The Punisher is set for a November release date. Netflix has announced a second season of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, and a third season of Daredevil, but no release dates have been announced for those either.
