'Marvel's The Defenders' Reportedly Set To Have One of Netflix's Biggest Premieres Yet

Marvel's The Defenders may prove to be one of Netflix's most popular debuts yet.

According to data released by analytics firm Jumpstart, four of Netflix's top five most-watched show in the 30 days following their release are Marvel series.

The second season of Marvel's Daredevil was far and away the most popular, cashing in on the buzz following the show's first season as well as excitement for Jon Bernthal's debut as the Punisher.

The first seasons of Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones landed in the third, fourth, and fifth spots respectively. 13 Reasons Why grabbed the number two spot.

Marvel's The Defenders has only been available to stream for a couple of days, but considering the popularity of each of the Defenders' individual series, it's not hard to imagine that the team-up series will generate quite a few views over its first month.

Some of Netflix's other most popular debuts include House of Cards, Stranger Things, Master of None, Fuller House, and Orange is the New Black.

It should be noted that Netflix does not release official ratings for their series to the public and regularly disputes the findings of analysts like Jumpstart, meaning that all of these numbers are unconfirmed.

The Defenders may make a splash for Netflix, but the team's status in the Marvel Cinematic Universe remains in question, as does the possibility of a second season, though the Defenders showrunner has plenty of other superhero team-ups he'd like to explore.

Whether or not Marvel's The Defenders returns for a second season, the series does set up what may be thought of as the second phase of the Marvel Netflix series.

We thought Marvel's The Defenders was worth the wait. Let us know what you thought Marvel and Netflix's superhero crossover by giving The Defenders your own rating below.

Marvel's The Defenders follows Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones). A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.

Marvel's The Defenders is now streaming on Netflix.
