Mjolnir Returns In New Photo From Avengers: Infinity War Set

It doesn't look like Mjolnir's fate as it was revealed in the Thor: Ragnarok trailer will stick for too long.

A new photo from the directors' of Avengers: Infinity War Anthony and Joe Russo's Instagram account reveals the return of the mighty hammer. Seen in the photo embedded below is Joe Russo, doing his job and calling the shots, with an priest standing behind him holding the iconic Asgardian weapon. The caption of the photo simply reads, "Worthy."

Check out the photo below.

The location appears to be Asgardian, with the location of the shoot being the iconic Durham Cathedral which was used for the Harry Potter films. However, that doesn't explain why there is a priest on the set, assuming this is an actor in costume for the film.

Given the cosmic nature of Avengers: Infinity War, it is entirely possible the Durham Cathedral will serve as a location in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's cosmos which has not been visited before. However, to go deeper in the spirit conspiracy theories, it is possible this scene is a flashback or otherwise from the past using Doctor Strange's ability to manipulate time. With Mjolnir having been destroyed by Hela in Thor: Ragnarok and the titular hero set to cross paths with the Sorcerer Supreme, perhaps they teamed up for a little time travel to recover Thor's hammer?

Time will tell exactly what's going on in this photo as Avengers: Infinity War plows through production this summer for a release in 2018.

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment - the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain."
