Natalie Portman Reacts To Thor: Ragnarok Trailer

For the casual Marvel Cinematic Universe fan, it probably came as a surprise to them that Natalie Portman didn't appear in first trailer for Thor: Ragnarok. The 35-year-old actress portrayed Jane Foster, the world-renowned astrophysicist and the God of Thunder's love interest, in first two films in the series.

A year ago, Marvel boss Kevin Feige confirmed that Portman was sitting out Thor: Ragnarok. And while he didn't go into specifics, he did say the film would address Jane's absence and explained that the reason is partially due to dearth of earthbound scenes. "There are only a couple of scenes on Earth in this movie," Feige shared with Empire. "80 to 90 percent takes place in the cosmos."

Seven months later while promoting her Jackie Kennedy biopic, Portman halfheartedly said she was open to returning to the MCU.

With that out of the way, sit back and get some chuckles out the video above. Superstar video editor Aldo Jones has cut together footage of Portman from V from Vendetta -- as well as other films like Apollo 13 -- to make it appear as though she is getting upset as she watches the Foster-less Ragnarok trailer.

The cast features Chris Hemsworth in the title role for the fifth time; Tom Hiddleston as Thor's adversarial, adopted brother, Loki; Idris Elba as the Asgardian sentry, Heimdall; Sir Anthony Hopkins again portraying Odin, Ruler of Asgard; Mark Ruffalo reprising his role of Bruce Banner/the Hulk; Cate Blanchett as the mysterious and powerful new villain Hela; Jeff Goldblum as the eccentric Grandmaster; Tessa Thompson bring the classic hero Valkyrie to life on the big screen; and Karl Urban will add his might to the fray as Skurge.

Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi, written by Craig Kyle, and will open in theaters November 3, 2017.
