FX and Marvel Television have released a new trailer for the upcoming X-Men television series Legion.

The new trailer was tweeted out with a February 2017 premiere date, further narrowing down the pilot's air date.

Legion will follow David Haller (Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens), a mutant with a form schizophrenia where each one of his personalities controls a different mutant power. Haller has heard voices since he was a boy, but a strange encounter with a fellow mental patient leaves him wondering if the voices are real. You can see the first full photo of Haller in Legion below.

In the Marvel Comics Universe, Haller is the son of X-Men founder Professor X and holocaust survivor, Gabrielle Haller. David's relationship to Xavier in Legion remains vague, but showrunner Noah Hawley attempted to clarify at New York Comic Con, saying "I don't think you can tell that story without that element to it, so I will say you probably will." Stevens noted, "There's a wheelchair in the first scene."

New York Comic Con also hosted a screening of the first half of Legion's premiere episode. Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb was present at Legion's New York Comic Con panel. Loeb clarified that rumors of Legion taking place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe were untrue, but did note that the fact that he was even present at the panel as a representative of Marvel showed that bridges between Fox and Marvel were being built.

Legion will also star Parkes and Recreation's Aubrey Plaza as David's friend Lenny. Fargo alum Jean Smart and Rachel Keller will respectively play therapist Melanie and a character rumored to be a mix of Rogue and Spyke.

Legion is a joint production of FX Productions and Marvel Television. Hawley is joined by Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Wolverine), Bryan Singer (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Superman Returns), Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Martian), Jon Cameron and Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb (Agents of SHIELD, Daredevil) and Jim Chory (Daredevil) as executive producer.

Legion's eight-episode first season will premiere on FX in February 2017.
