Michael Keaton Compares Work With Batman To Spider-Man: Homecoming

05/25/2017 03:38 pm EDT

Michael Keaton will always be remembered for his fantastic take on the Dark Knight in 1989's Batman film, but now he's setting up shop in the MCU as the villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

During a recent appearance on Ellen, Keaton was asked about the differences between the two films and more importantly the two universes. Keaton joked "One's a bat and the other's a spider", but luckily there is more to it than just that.

On a more serious note, Keaton said "They're really different in terms of how they're made. You know think about what Tim did, Tim Burton, who to me is a just, there's no one like him. He's truly unique and an artist and I love working with him. The Marvel people are kind of amazing. There's all that interconnected lore of you know, Iron Man and all the, I'll tell you there are so many characters. You have no idea how many characters there are in the Marvel world that we haven't even heard of yet."

As for his co-star Tom Holland, Keaton said "He's extraordinary that kid. I still kicked his but in the movie, but it's alright."
