New Tech For Tony Stark's Spider-Man: Homecoming Suit Revealed

Spider-Man is set to swing into theaters next month with his first feature film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Jon Watts is helming the character's adventure in Spider-Man: Homecoming with Tom Holland reprising the role after debuting in Captain America: Civil War, but things will be a bit different for the Wallcrawler's latest reboot.

The film will also feature Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, whose influence impacts the direction of the film and the abilities of the character. As hinted in Civil War, Spider-Man is just starting out and operating with a homemade suit and tech when Stark comes along and provides a major upgrade.

A new feature on Disney Channel called "A Fan's Guide To Spider-Man: Homecoming" recently aired, offering a new look at the making of the film and how it fits into the MCU. The feature details some of the technology in the Stark-made Spider-Man suit, including the different web functions selected in a smartphone-like interface, webgliders, a chest-mounted spider drone, and GPS. Best of all, it has a heater!

A clip shows Iron Man finding the fledgling crimefighter freezing in the night, which prompts the shivering Spidey to ask if his mentor put a tracker in his suit.

"I put everything in your suit, including this heater," Stark says, causing a Parker to moan in relief.

Producer Kevin Feige says the film isn't an origin of how Spider-Man got his powers, but how he begins his journey toward becoming the iconic superhero he is in the comic books.

We'll learn more when Spider-Man: Homecoming opens in theaters July 7.
