Spider-Man: Homecoming Art Reveals A Very Different Vulture Suit

Spider-Man: Homecoming gave the Vulture a sleek suit for his cinematic debut, but Marvel Studios did consider other designs for Michael Keaton's villain. Getting the look of Adrian Toomes was a key part of the Spider-Man standalone, and fans agree the film's depiction of the Vulture was spot-on. But, thanks to a new piece of concept art, audience can see how different the villain's design could have been.

Over on Instagram, Rodney Fuentebella shared a piece of artwork he did for Spider-Man: Homecoming. The concept illustrator showed off an earlier design he inked for the Vulture's suit which looks rather alien-inspired.

"Here is one of my takes on the Vulture from Spider-Man Homecoming. So much fun working on this project. Tried something with a lot of alien type tech. Enjoy!" Fuentebella caption the image.

The artwork, which can be seen below, shows a very different kind of suit for Keaton's character. The Vulture's winged exoskeleton is much larger in this design, and it has additional appendages to give it some dexterity. Rather than having foldable wings, Fuentebella's suit isn't as flexible since its wings appear to use less articulation. The overall style is one which would suit a MCU villain, but it does clash with the grounded nature Toomes and his blue-collar roots in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Let's just be honest; Keaton's character is not one who would willing suit up in a teal jumpsuit to pillage for Damage Control's alien artifacts.

There is no telling whether the Vulture will reappear in the MCU, but fans are hoping the character sticks close to his original suit design if he does. The Spider-Man movie did leave room for Toomes to return as part of the Sinister Six, so the villain would need to reconstruct his suit to take on Peter Parker alongside the gang if he takes up membership. Just, don't expect the baddie to add in a bodysuit to his new costume design.
