Stan Lee Day Announced By Los Angeles

There are very few that are more synonymous with the comic industry than Stan "The Man" Lee, something that will happen when you are responsible for creating classic Marvel icons like Spider-Man, The Hulk, and Iron Man.

The city of Los Angeles has been home to Lee's Comikaze Expo for some time now, but going forward the city is renaming the convention to Stan Lee's Los Angeles Comic Con. The new title will already be in effect when the con hits the Los Angeles Convention Center on October 28-30, but it actually officially changed over yesterday. Lee, along with convention founder Regina Carpenelli and CEO Keith Tralins, were invited to Los Angeles City Hall for a special ceremony in honor of their achievements.

That wasn't the only honor the Los Angeles City Council bestowed on Stan, however, as council member Curren D. Price announced that Friday, October 28th will be now known as Stan Lee Day. The 28th is actually the first day of Stan Lee's Los Angeles Comic Con, and the day was named in his honor for his substantial contributions to the city's entertainment community and involvement, including the creation of his yearly convention.

Stan Lee's Los Angeles Comic Con is Los Angeles' biggest multi-media pop culture convention.
