Remembering Stan And Joan Lee's X-Men: Apocalypse Cameo

07/07/2017 09:22 pm EDT

If you've seen any movie featuring a Marvel character, chances are you've kept your eyes peeled for that movie's signature Stan Lee cameo. He's appeared in nearly all properties featuring a Marvel character regardless if that movie has been produced by Marvel Studios, Fox, Sony, Universal, or some other production house.

When it came time for Stan's cameo in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse, moviegoers might have noticed a familiar face. For the first time in his history of cameos, Stan appeared on screen alongside his wife Joan.

As Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) launched every nuclear warhead on Earth in an attempt to end life as we know it, Stan and Joan could be seen embracing each other bracing for the incoming onslaught.

In the recent wake of Joan's passing, X-Men: Apocalypse crew members have been taking to social media to share their most fond memories of her.

Singer took to Instagram to share a video he captured behind the scenes as Stan and Joan prepped to shoot their aforementioned cameo.

"I am so saddened by the passing of #joanlee wife of my dear friend #stanlee #marvel #xmen," Singer wrote. "I was blessed to know her and be able to shoot a brief cameo with her and Stan."

While Deadpool 2 and The New Mutants are both on the way from Fox, X-Men: Dark Phoenix is the next movie in line in Fox's main X-Men timeline.

Fox attempted to adapt "The Dark Phoenix Saga" once previously, in X-Men: The Last Stand. The attempt was not well-received by fans.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix currently has a 3.72 out of 5 ComicBook.com User Anticipation Rating. Let us know how excited you are for X-Men: Dark Phoenix by giving the film your own user anticipation rating below.
