It sounds like a major star is looking to make her way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Taraji P. Henson, the awards-nominated star of Empire and Hidden Figures, is looking for a superhero origin story of her own.

"I would love to be a Marvel superhero," Henson told The New York Times. "I'm dying to get into some comedy. I think I'm a stronger comedic actress than a dramatic actress. You guys just fell for the drama side."

It's interesting that Henson specifies a Marvel superhero, though that makes sense if her goal is to show her comedic abilities. Comparing Marvel Studios to DC Films, any fan would have a hard time arguing that Marvel isn't the universe that draws more laughs from audiences.

This isn't the first time that Henson has said she'd like to suit up for a superhero movie. In September, Henson put it on the list of characters types she still has to check off of her list.

"I haven't played a superhero yet, I haven't played a psycho character yet," Henson told Entertainment Weekly. "I want to play a man, like I want to really disappear. I have so much to do."

Henson's career has spanned several notable television roles as well. Her starring turn as Cookie on Fox's Empire may be the most notable, but she also had roles on Boston Legal and Eli Stone and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for her role in the Lifetime Television movie The Tiffany Rubin Story.

Next year, Black Panther opens on Feb. 16, AvengersL Infinity War will follow on May 4, and ANt-Man and the Wasp will round things out on July 6. The 2019 schedule is no less paced, with Captain Marvel opening on March 8, the sequel to Avengers: Infinity War opening on May 3, and Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 arriving on July 5.
