The Creators Of Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider Got To Visit The SHIELD

While not as familiar to those who aren't longtime Ghost Rider fans, Robbie Reyes built up a strong following in the books before he made it to TV. Now his creators get to see their work come to life on the set of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD.

Writer Felipe Smith and artist Tradd Moore were invited to the set of Agents of SHIELD, where they got to meet the new Robbie Reyes Gabriel Luna. They had nothing but positive things to say about their experience.

"Yeah, the whole set visit has been just a cool experience," said Moore. "I've never been on a set before. As the people who made the comic, these people on set, you can tell they really care." "Yeah, they're keeping the essential aspects and the heart of the character and the theme," said Smith, "which is, you couldn't ask for more as a creator." "And Gabe playing Robbie, he's just a fun guy to be around, but when he starts playing Robbie he knows how to get really intense," said Moore.

A big part of Ghost Rider is the iconic flaming skull, and the creators are quite pleased with how their creation has been presented on television.

"To Mark Kolpack head of special effects, and seeing how he translated our design. Well, it's a metal engine skull with a blower on it, which is not the traditional Ghost Rider look, which is the human skull, and its stylized as well which is something that we did and I have a certain design and then Trad went in and put in some lines and like stretched certain things and made it look really evil. Those things translated into the actual skull and there are cracks that mimic the lines on the engine skull and there's a crack in the middle shaped like the blower and even the eyes, and they also put in the burning embers for the eyes that give the skull expression, which is something again in comics expression is really important getting that look in there."
