A long-teased comic series at Marvel has been revealed today at New York Comic Con, and one of the today's most popular R&B artists is a major part of the series.

At an appearance NYCC Abel Tesfaye — better known as his stage name The Weeknd — revealed Starboy, a new series that will be coming from Marvel in 2018. The Canadian artist had teased the series in the days leading up to the convention before he made the announcement from the Marvel Booth at the Javitz Center.

"Starboy is the next chapter in this chronicle, this saga," Tesfaye told Pigeons & Planes in an interview last year. "I guess this is the fourth chapter. He's a character that we created. It's so funny, we want to create a comic out of him, as well. … He's a cool, dope character that makes appearances a lot on the album."

Starboy is a long-time persona of the singer, even being featured in the artist's latest album Starboy which featured hits like "Rockin," "Secrets," and a self-titled track.

After the announcement, The Weeknd took to Twitter to share the cover of the project.

This isn't Marvel's first foray into partnering with musicians by any means. Earlier this year they announce a collaboration with the Black Eyed Peas and have done their Hip-Hop Variant covers for their comics since Secret Wars. They've started doing Rock and Roll Variant covers this fall.
