Thor: Ragnarok Producer Teases Doctor Strange's Role

Last year, the world was introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's take on the mystical hero that is Doctor Strange. Benedict Cumberbatch conjured up the role with critical success as the origin flick raked in big bucks at the box office. At the MCU moves into a new phase, the franchise is set to make its universe more interconnected than ever before. Future films like Avengers: Infinity War will take steps to ensure everyone's continuity is tied together neatly, but characters will continue to interact ever before the massive ensemble flick hits theaters.

As usual, Marvel Studios is making good on its reputation for cameos with its line-up of films this year. Come November, Thor: Ragnarok is set to hit theaters, and the Asgardian won't be the only hero to star in the film.

Aside from Thor and the Hulk, fans know that Doctor Strange will be featured in the film one way or another. Now, audiences have been teased with a bit more information regarding the cameo. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios' head spoke about Doctor Strange's bit. It was there that Kevin Feige teased just where the hero would show up.

"There's not a whole lot that takes place on Earth in this film," Feige said about Thor: Ragnarok, "and that's one of the things that does."

Given Feige's admission, it seems all the more likely that the post-credit scene of Doctor Strange is part of Thor: Ragnarok. Fans knew the titles were connected given their shared heroes, but fans didn't know if Thor was going to be swept away to some alternate dimension after seeking out Doctor Strange for help. The hero went to the sorcerer to get assistance in finding his father Odin after the ruler was banished when Loki forcefully took Asgard's throne. And, now, it seems pretty likely the guy is stranded on Earth.

Turnabout is fair play though; Remember when Odin sent Thor to Earth?

Fans of the MCU will surely have suspected the search for Odin would take place on Earth. For fans who've kept up with the filming of Thor: Ragnarok, a major clue about the ruler's hideout was teased last year. Set photos of Anthony Hopkins filming hit the Internet which showed him in-character as Odin, and he looked worse for wear. Dressed in ragged clothes, Odin looked like a homeless bum who was down on his luck, so it will likely fall to Doctor Strange to figure out just where Odin is off wandering about.
