New 'Thor: Ragnarok' Image Highlights The Grandmaster

With Thor: Ragnarok just over two months away from its debut in theaters, Marvel Studios is starting to reveal more about the third movie starring the God of Thunder.

Now a new photograph featuring one of the film's antagonists comes courtesy of Yahoo!, featuring Jeff Goldblum's character the Grandmaster in all of his ornate glory.

The Grandmaster runs the Contest of Champions on the planet Sakaar. His crew captures Thor, cuts his hair off, and forces him to do battle against fellow Avenger the Hulk.

The Grandmaster is aided by the former Asgardian warrior known as Valkyrie, played by Tessa Thompson, and another character named Topaz, played by Rachel House.

All three characters are present in a photo where the Grandmaster looks none too pleased. Previous photos from a similar scene show Thor strapped in a chair while Loki looks on, speaking to the Grandmaster. Perhaps one of them said something to insult the Elder of the Universe?

Topaz appears to be sizing up whomever the Grandmaster is glaring at, which makes sense given what we know about the character.

House previously spoke with ComicBook.com at San Diego Comic-Con where she revealed her character is very loyal to the Grandmaster, almost to the point of being enamored with him.

"I'm very protective of the Grandmaster," House said. "And if anyone messes with his affections then I'm gonna get a bit, you know, grumpy."

Her character might even have a burgeoning feud with Valkyrie, whom House said Topaz doesn't think of.

"When you're standing next to the Grandmaster, who can destroy anything with his wand-thing — and he's millions of years old — no one compares to the Grandmaster."

The actor appeared in Taika Waititi's last movie, the critically acclaimed The Hunt For The Wilderpeople, as an overzealous child protective services agent on the hunt for a disobedient child who goes on the run in the forests of New Zealand.

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters November 3 and is said to set up Avengers: Infinity War in a major way.
