Thor: Ragnarok May Just Be The MCU's Shortest Film Yet

As it stands, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a behemoth to binge. The entire franchise - films and all - would take about a week to watch through, but you won't have to worry about Thor: Ragnarok clogging up its timeline. Apparently, the film may become the franchise's shortest installment to date.

Recently, Taika Waititi sat down with Collider to talk about the third Thor movie. The site asked the director as San Diego Comic Con how post-production was going on the film, and Waititi surprisingly revealed where the movie's run-time is at right now.

"The cut right now, I reckon it's about 100 minutes. It's not gonna be a very, very long film," Waititi said.

"I think that stories are better when you leave them wanting more, and this film moves at a clip, it's got stuff happening all the time. I think people are still gonna feel exhausted by the end, they've been on this big journey and stuff, so I don't think we need the film to be three hours."

If Thor: Ragnarok stays close to the 100-minute mark, then the film will easily become the shortest MCU film on record. The Incredible Hulk holds the title right now as the film runs 112 minutes; Still, Thor does have a precedence for being brief. When the hero returned for Thor: The Dark World, the sequel clocked in at 112 minutes. Ant-Man and Doctor Strange also have shorter screen-times as the films ran 117 and 115 minutes respectively.
