Tom Holland Says Spider-Man: Homecoming Costume Is 'Not The Greatest Thing'

Tom Holland is the latest young actor to step into the role of Spider-Man for a movie. As tends to come with the territory, Holland's Peter Parker will have his own, uniquely designed Spider-Man costume, which debuted in Captain America: Civil War.

Holland has been wearing that suit pretty regularly to film Spider-Man: Homecoming, his first headlining film as Spider-Man, and Holland has some issues with the Spider-Man costume.

"The suit's not the greatest thing, but sometimes when it's uncomfortable, you just have to remind yourself of the long list of actors that would love to be in that suit and you just go, 'do you know what, f**k it. I'm the luckiest kid alive,'" Holland said at Saturday's New York Film Festival premiere of The Lost City of Z. "'I deserve to be here and I'm going to give it my best.'"

Despite how uncomfortable his Spider-Man costume may be, Holland has shown great determination when it comes to playing Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, insisting on doing as much of the stuntwork for Spider-Man: Homecoming himself as he's allowed.

"I did as many [of the stunts] as I could, but there are some things legally that I couldn't do," said Holland. "There were stunt doubles who were all very, very talented guys who really supported me throughout the process. Whenever there was a stunt that I didn't necessarily feel comfortable about, they would step in and show my how to do it, and coach me through the process."

Holland's dedication to the role, despite the awkwardness of the suit, is enough that he seems willing to put the costume on for a future Avengers movie as well.

Spider-Man: Homecoming returns Spider-Man to his roots as a high school student trying to balance his life as a superhero with his personal responsibilities as Peter Parker.

Spider-Man: Homecoming opens in theaters on July 7, 2017.
