Watch Sigourney Weaver Return As Ripley For Stephen Colbert's Alien Sketch

Ridley Scott returned to the Alien universe with the prequel Prometheus, exploring the origins of the xenomorphs. And though the upcoming movie Alien: Covenant is set to further bridge the gap between the prequel and the original film, many fans are wondering when star Sigourney Weaver will reprise her role as Ellen Ripley in the franchise.

Wonder no more, because Stephen Colbert has you covered in the latest sketch from The Late Show.

In the segment, Weaver reprises her role as Ripley aboard a Weyland Yutani Space Station where, as usual, all hell breaks loose. But even though Ripley is the type to "get sh*t done," she faces something far more sinister than a genetically enhanced killing machine that plants eggs in human chests.

Colbert plays a medical tech named Randy in the clip, forcing poor Ripley to go through the hurdles of paperwork before she can see a doctor about the chestburster that's probably moments away from killing her.

It's a funny skit that runs through a lot of the greatest hits from the franchise, including the late Bill Paxton's own memorable quote "game over." The woman known to most as Ripley can't even get identified by her many titles. They even poke fun at the now-antiquated technology used in the original films.

Check out the clip and get hyped for Alien: Covenant, which is sure to scare people out of their seats when it premieres May 19. Hopefully Katherine Waterston and Danny McBride don't have to deal with such a heinous monster in the new movie.

Director Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

The cast features Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, and Benjamin Rigby.
