Batman V. Superman Prequel Comic Reveals Batman's Changed

While Man of Steel's prequel comic was a Wal-Mart exclusive affair that teamed creative staff from the film up with Superman veterans Geoff Johns and Jerry Ordway, the Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice prequel comic is apparently an app you can download after scanning bottles of 20 oz. Dr. Pepper products.

There are at least two different short prequel comics -- one that we know of for Batman and one for Lois Lane -- and it seems that while Batman and some portions of the world are justifiably paranoid after the events of Man of Steel, Lex Luthor is also taking advantage of a fear and mistrust of the Batman that's a bit more widespread than just Clark Kent's zealous protections of civil liberties as seen in the recent trailer.

In a panel posted at DC Women Kicking Ass from the Batman chapter from writer Christos Gage and artist Joe Bennett, it's established that Batman has gotten dark and more brutal since the events of Man of Steel, with Lex watching on a monitor as somebody questioned how the Dark Knight might be stopped.

They further report that after Batman and Lois, there are three more chapters -- third being Holly Hunter's Senator Finch. It sounds, then, that they're telling a cohesive story that will progress either over time, or as you buy more Dr. Pepper, rather than the more dicey proposition of trying to find a bottle that has the code you need.

More on this once I've seen them for myself, surely.
