Better Off Dead Thirtieth Anniversary Celebration Pairs Original Cast Members With Comedy Stars This Weekend

Napoleon Dynamite star Jon Heder will appear in a live stage reading of the '80s cult classic Better Off Dead this weekend, one of the film's stars revealed on Facebook tonight.
Diane Franklin, who played the sexy French foreign exchange student Monique Junet, shared the poster for the event, which takes place in San Francisco on Sunday night. The reading will feature a number of members of the original film cast members along with writer/director Savage Steve Holland.
While star John Cusack won't appear (his part will presumably be played by Heder, Dan Vs. and King of the Nerds's Curtis Armstrong will be there, along with Amanda Wyss, Kim Darby, comedian Paul F. Tompkins, The Usual Suspects' Kevin Pollak and The Muppets' Eddie Pepitone.
The reading, which celebrates the film's thirtieth anniversary, will take place at the SF Sketchfest, part of the San Francisco Comedy Festival. It will take place on Sunday February 8, 2015 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. PST at the Marines Memorial Theatre at 609 Sutter Street, San Francisco, CA 94102. Tickets are $30.
