Early in the pre-production of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, a rumor started circulating that Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston would be playing Lex Luthor in the film. The rumor persisted for so long, and was reported so widely, that some even began taking it as a confirmed fact.
Turns out there was never an inkling of truth to is, as Bryan Cranston tells MTV.
"Not one conversation. It was all fan-driven," Cranston syas. "They're thinking, 'Who Could Play Lex Luthor? Who's bald and could be menacing?'"
Cranston doesn't even seem impressed with the idea that he would play Luthor, saying "It's not very inspiring casting."
Eventually the role was given to Jesse Eisenberg. The lesson here? Be discerning with who you get your movie gossip from.
