Deadpool Movie To Take Over Five Networks With Ads

Deadpool marketing is taking over Viacom's television networks.

Eight shows on Comedy Central, MTV, VH1, Logo and Spike will air nothing but customized Deadpool commercials for a three hour block on Monday night. Over the weekend, the networks will air ads "warning" viewers of Deadpool's takeover.

"It's the biggest takeover stunt we've ever done with a partner," Dario Spina, executive vice president of Viacom's Velocity marketing team, told The Wrap.

One of the shows effected by the campaign is a favorite of Wade Wilson's, Golden Girls on Logo.

Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool is directed by Tim Miller, with a screenplay by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T. J. Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapičić, and Leslie Uggams.
