A release date doesn't necessarily indicate how good or bad a film is, but it can indicate how confident or not the studio is in the film.

Take in point Goodbye Christopher Robin, a biographical movie starring Domnhall Gleeson and Margot Robbie that will show how the son of British author A.A. Milne inspired him to create Winnie the Pooh and how living near the Five Hundred Acre Wood in Ashdown Forest inspired the creation of Winnie the Pooh's home, Hundred Acre Wood. Fox Searchlight gave the family drama a release date of November 10.

Why's that important? Because, it is considered an awards-season release. If a studio thinks their film will win some awards, having it open in November is a great way to make sure it's fresh on the mind of voters.

GOODBYE CHRISTOPHER ROBIN gives a rare glimpse into the relationship between beloved children's author A. A. Milne (Domhnall Gleeson) and his son Christopher Robin (Will TIlston), whose toys inspired the magical world of Winnie the Pooh. Along with his mother Daphne (Margot Robbie), and his nanny Olive (Kelly Macdonald), Christopher Robin and his family are swept up in the international success of the books; the enchanting tales bringing hope and comfort to England after the First World War. But with the eyes of the world on Christopher Robin, what will the cost be to the family?

The film is being directed by Simon Curtis (Woman in Gold), based on a script by Frank Cottrell and Simon Vaughan. Damian Jones and Steve Christian are the producers.
