Much was made of DC Comics' decision to split the marriage of Clark Kent and Lois Lane when the company's comic book line was rebooted in 2011. With that longstanding relationship dissolved, the younger version of Superman introduced as part of the New 52 was able to pursue a workplace relationship with fellow Justice League member Wonder Woman.

A relationship between Superman and Lane seemed to be brewing in 2013's Man of Steel, but follow-up Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice will introduce Wonder Woman (played by Gal Gadot) into the movie mix, leaving fans to speculate about which direction the cinematic Superman's heart will lead him in.

Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman star Henry Cavill was asked by Cosmopolitan which woman he thought was best for his character. Cavill answered with something of a non-answer, laying out the benefits inherit in both relationships as a choice between gods and mortals.

"This is a very long discussion because there are a lot of questions to be asked and answered. I mean who is better for a super-powered alien, a human or a goddess? Yes, the goddess can do all the normal things, which we would think are normal in a relationship, and not have any fear of Superman. But you also need to have that baseline of humanity, which Lois provides. And literally keeps his feet on the ground, keeps him down to earth. So that's more of a debate than an answer."

Which relationship do you think works best for Superman, Lois Lane or Wonder Woman? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
