Neil Gaiman's 'How to Talk To Girls At Parties' Movie Teasers

After years of development, the film adaptation of How to Talk to Girls at Parties is finally beginning to reach audiences. A24, who is distributing the film, has helped unveil a trio of teasers to give audiences their first look at the project.

The film, which is directed by John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), is based on the 2006 short story written by Neil Gaiman. It chronicles an encounter between Enn (Alex Sharp) and Zan (Elle Fanning) in late 1970s London. As Enn and his friends, Vic and John, sneak into a party, they meet a group of mesmerizingly beautiful young girls, including Zan. Its only later that he discovers Zan and her friends are from another planet, leading to conflict between Enn's group of young punks and Zan's colony.

The first teaser, which you can see below, is courtesy of Fanning's Instagram. It shows Enn educating Zan about Earth culture.

The second teaser, courtesy of Cameron Mitchell, showcases the film's more extraterrestrial tendencies - including quite a bit of unusual body horror.

And the third teaser, from Gaiman's account, focuses on the film's punk style, and features a first look at Nicole Kidman's character, Queen Boadicea.

How to Talk to Girls at Parties also stars The Affair's Ruth Wilson, and Doctor Who's Matt Lucas.

Gaiman's work has been a hot button item for Hollywood in recent months. The television adaptation of American Gods premiered last month to critical and fan acclaim. And among countless other pieces of Gaiman's work currently in development, an adaptation of Good Omens - Gaiman's 1990 novel with Terry Pratchett - is currently being adapted into a miniseries by Amazon.

How to Talk to Girls at Parties is set to debut at the Cannes Film Festival in the next few days, meaning that fans hopefully will not have to wait long for the film to earn a release date.
