Jeffrey Wright Might Return For Bond 25

The cast of the next James Bond movie is largely up in the air as franchise star Daniel Craig may or may not return for a fifth go as the British secret agent. Those who would be surrounding him if he does are also not yet locked in, however, one co-star is teasing a return.

Having already moved on to a compelling role in Westworld, Casino Royale actor Jeffrey Wright took to Twitter to tease his return to Bond franchise. Wright played Felix Leiter through a pair of films, starting with Casino Royale in 2006 an last appearing in Quantum of Solace in 2008.

Wright's recent tweet captioned, "Eh, who's that brother?" with a photo of himself in character as Felix Leiter has spawned speculation regarding his return.

It may be a while before Wright or any other cast members are confirmed for the next installment of the Bond franchise. Bond 25 does not have a release date, director, or star in place just yet. Wright's Felix Leiter played a significant role in Casino Royale as he sat beside Craig's Bond for the poker sequence involving Mads Mikkelsen. He was originally set to play a major role in Quantum of Solace but his role diminished as the movie underwent significant changes throughout production. He did not appear in Spectre despite being mentioned.

The character of Felix Leiter has been an element of the Bond movies since Dr. No in 1962 after first appearing in live action in the "Climax!" film which featured several episodes, including the Casino Royale scene with Michael Pate in the role.

As for the role of Bond's future, it was rumored Avengers star Tom Hiddleston was up for the gig, until he publicly denied to rumors during a comic convention.
