Jena Malone will reportedly play Barbara Gordon in Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
While Malone's casting in the film was known some time ago, many thought that she would pay Carrie Kelly, the Robin from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. But, Latino Review is now reporting that Malone will play Barbara Gordon.
For those who don't know, Barbara Gordon is the DC Universe's most recognized and current Batgirl. She is also the daughter of Gotham City Police Commissioner Jim Gordon, who is rumored to be dead in Batman V. Superman. It is unknown at this time what form Malone's Gordon could take—Batgirl, or Oracle. After Gordon was paralyzed by the Joker in Alan Moore's Killing Joke graphic novel, Gordon became an internet sleuth named Oracle, who helped Batman through information retrieval, hacking, and digital communication.
What do you think of Malone as Barbara Gordon, readers? Would you like to see her as Batgirl or Oracle? Let us know in the comments!
