New Star Wars: The Force Awakens Images Of Maz Kanata & Supreme Leader Snoke

Lucasfilm (via EW) has released new Maz Kinata and Supreme Leader Snoke images from The Force Awakens.

Director J.J. Abrams wanted to keep as much of The Force Awakens a surprise as possible. That meant keeping Snoke out of the marketing campaign all together and Maz was only seen in tiny, blurry images. However, we did see behind-the-scenes photos of Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings) and Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o (12 Years A Slave), the actors that played the CGI characters, wearing their unflattering motion-capture suits.

Maz is a orange-skinned pirate who is over a thousand years and has ability to sense the Force in others. In the film, she helps Han Solo, Rey and Finn on their journey. She also happens to have an enormous crush on her "boyfriend"--Chewbacca. Like Yoda, she is short in stature but not someone to be taken lightly.

As for Snoke, he's the Supreme Leader of the First Order and the person responsible for luring Kylo Ren to the dark side. While he appeared several times in film as 25-foot tall hologram, much of his backstory and true nature has been left in the dark.
