Joe Carnahan is Directing The Raid Remake

The Raid: Redemption came out of nowhere to become one of the biggest cult-hit action flicks of all time, and its sequel The Raid 2 was an international hit. Ever since the first film's success, there's been talk of Hollywood doing a Raid remake; the project almost came together a few years back, with Expendables 3 director Patrick Hughes at the helm, and Taylor Kitsch (Battleship) being offered the lead role.
Most action fans would probably agree that it is highly fortunate that particular version of the project never came together - but there is now a better hope on the horizon.
Smokin' Aces and The A-Team director Joe Carnahan tweeted yesterday that he has officially signed on to direct The Raid remake, as well as producing it!
No word yet on a cast, or how the remake will compare to the original's storyline. We'll keep you updated.
